Professional Background

After graduating in Law from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, including a year at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), and completing an LL.M. in International Business Law at IE alongside students from more than 15 nationalities, Arturo began his legal career in the Regulatory and Competition Law department at EY Abogados (Ernst & Young) in Madrid. There, he had the opportunity to work on a wide range of transactions and projects across different industries.

After several years at the firm, he moved into business development at the World Business Forum, an exclusive congress for senior executives from multinational companies held annually in major cities across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

A year later, Arturo joined Thomson Reuters in Spain to lead its tourism vertical, working on a number of digital transformation projects for the legal and tax departments of leading hotel groups and other prominent companies in the sector. This gave him first-hand insight into how in-house legal and tax teams operate and a clear understanding of the key challenges they face in their day-to-day work.

He subsequently served as Global Director of Business Development and Compliance Resolution at Seven Eighths, a firm providing license compliance services to some of the world’s leading software companies. His role extended beyond business development to include direct involvement in the negotiation and mediation of disputes between clients and the legal departments of audited companies.

In 2020, Arturo founded ValistiQ, introducing a new approach to supporting the legal and tax departments of companies and investment funds in the sourcing and selection of external professional services providers. Since then, ValistiQ has developed a distinctive position in the legal market through its independent legal sourcing and procurement model.
